My dad is the biggest Star Trek fan I know, and I love that for him. When I was growing up, he was always on the couch watching Star Trek reruns every Saturday morning because he just loved it so darn much! It was like he was a kid again, and it was the 60s, and the OG Star Trek was still airing. I feel kind of bad that I was so unwilling to get into the show at that time. I was one of those children who truly and honestly did not know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars. I was a lot more interested in time traveling through different parts of history (hello, Magic Treehouse Books) than traveling through space to unknown planets. If you're a dad with a daughter who doesn't care about your sci-fi interests at all, I feel for you. Maybe some Star Trek memes can be a gateway for her to get into the wonderful world of Star Trek.
